WestCorp Solutions is seeking a Contracts Advisor to support our client in Calgary, AB. Are you an experienced commercial professional with a background in Supply Chain that is looking to learn more about our client’s contracting? Come join us in the journey towards World Class, executing high value, high complexity, high risk, scopes related to contracting and integration activities. You will plan and execute sourcing initiatives, negotiate contracts, manage contracts through their lifecycle, and manage and grow supplier relationships.

Key Accountabilities:
Develop go to market strategy, RFx packages, bid evaluation criteria and other commercial documents for all levels of complexity, integrating market intelligence, historical data at client and contract compliance information.
Lead RFx activities from start to finish, including issuance of bid packages, review of responses, analysis, facilitating evaluation process with multiple stakeholders and making recommendation on vendor selection.
Lead the evaluation of and develop recommendations for the commercial structures to be leveraged on contracts.
Complete legal review of terms and conditions and engage client legal teams as required.
Apply your analytical skills to assess competitiveness of supplier proposals and contracts. Leverage various cost models as applicable.
Develop negotiation strategy and lead negotiations for both commercial and legal terms.
Leverage client contract templates and/or negotiated supplier paper to form contracts and implement them on SAP Ariba.
Run effective implementation and roll out of negotiated contract terms to respective peers and end users within the organization. For select vendors, implement and co-ordinate supplier performance management program, as required.
Lead change management process for contracts; lead contract close-out process and ensure supplier performance feedback is gathered for future reference.
Collaborate with business units and other internal stakeholders to assess commercial needs and act as a trusted commercial advisor to support these needs.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across various aspects of supply chain, as required.

Skills and Knowledge:
Experience in contracts management, category management, strategic sourcing, and/or supply chain operations, with demonstrated capability in contract drafting and negotiation, review of legal terms and conditions, and supplier relationship and performance management.
A deep understanding of contracting and commercial concepts and processes, coupled with strong negotiation skills and the dexterity to lead complex commercial negotiations.
The ability to build trust and respectful relationships with suppliers while collaborating on opportunities and managing performance.
Extraordinary communication skills, both verbal and written, with the sufficiency to adapt to different audiences, including demonstrated ability to effectively present commercial concepts clearly and concisely.

Preference for:
Experience in negotiating and managing contracts for the procurement of Support Services.
Proficiency in SAP Ariba and/or Fieldglass.
MBA and other recognized professional designations and training (SCMP, PMP etc.).
Varied commercial experience is welcome with a desire to learn and cross translate prior commercial experience.
Required Qualifications:
Eight (8) years of directly related professional experience and/or a combination of commercial and technical work experience.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or Law.

Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
