Strategy Phase
Identify known work scope items and ensure Maximo and the work scope documents reflect the scopes
Engage electrical resources in the work list compilation process
Planning Phase
Prepare job packages for all electrical scope items that appear on the work list and are assigned to you
Review all outstanding work orders in Maximo and maintain a list of workable work orders for outages
Coordinate with operations, integrity/inspection, projects, engineering and maintenance for the final scope of work
List out all outstanding work orders on a weekly basis
Initiate RFI’s when required and follow up
Review historical records of previously executed outages and turnaround related jobs, collate information and develop data for assessing and planning
Perform job walk / site verifications to ensure job packages are fully completed and satisfactory
Develop work packages for tasks not found in the technical archives which include; detailed activity break-up, job safety analysis, P&ID’s, WPS, repair procedures, inspection reports, drawings and contract services
Understand worst case scenario and mitigation plans to control any bad actors
Identify & list out resources required for all turnaround scopes including parts, labor, equipment, materials, special tools, procedures, critical lifts, documents and specialty contract services
Identify the materials with long lead delivery. Coordinate with the Materials Coordinator for budgetary quote and delivery schedule
Perform technical review of quotes from Vendors, coordinate with engineering and integrity for added information
Coordinate with operations / projects / integrity / engineering and maintenance planning to create the final list of TA jobs for scope challenge sessions
Create work orders for all approved turnaround work orders (if required)
Assemble final work packs
Coordinate with Material Coordinators for final BOM & follow-up for timely delivery
Follow established priority of job plan preparation
Report on weekly progress of job plan preparation
Identify obstacles that will prevent the completion of a job package
Verify parts on arrival and ensure correct parts received
Establish content consistency and formatting across work packages
Liaises with Mechanical and Rotating Planners on any jobs which are multi-discipline and ensure that one package is created (avoid wasted energy on multiple packages)
Pigtail with all on Electrical and HV sources to ensure the correct scope items and accurate description of the work to be performed
Ensure the correct equipment numbers are used on all work orders – research and correct as needed
Establish temporary power & lightening needs and optimize this element. The right size service for the right work scope to avoid overkill and waste
Research any available history and use that information to build a more sound plan
Determine manpower requirements for scopes
Keep lines of communication open, be part of regularly scheduled meetings with the Turnaround Team to ensure information on progress according to work plan timelines
Coordinate work package development with Mechanical Planners
Participate in Critical Job Reviews and make subsequent changes to work packs based on findings
Ensure all work packages are complete and all document numbers on the worklist are in accordance with agreed upon timelines
Ensure compliance with the document management processes
Assist in the schedule development for Turnaround activities
Assist with overall sequence of events and build a timeline
Provide accurate work scopes for internal work so the CSE documents can be prepared reflecting the actual activities
Exploit opportunities during small temporary outages or partial plant Turnarounds
Investigate creative ways to carry out work that would normally be considered Turnaround only
Execution Phase
Plan found work or scope changes and process work packages as required
Locate missing drawings or information that is required by the execution team or contractors
Manage the efficiency and ensure “right size” work packs for given scope
Collect continual feedback on your work packs and assimilate for work pack updating in the close out phase
Comply with all Health and Safety requirements establish by Client
Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Alberta and environmental standards
Follow safe work procedures and ensure all comply
Report any injury or illness immediately
Report unsafe acts and conditions
Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and is worn where and when required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a Grade 12 or GED
Journeyman Trade Certified; Electrician or Electrical Engineer
Dynamic individual with 5 years minimum planning experience
A working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (preferably Maximo or Similar) and material management systems
Proficient with Microsoft office products such as Word & Excel
Knowledge of routine maintenance and/or turnaround practices, performances measures, scheduling tools and techniques
NETA certification would be considered an asset
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Strong interpersonal, communication, administrative and leadership skills are required
Motivated, self-starter who can work well independently or within a team environment
An effective communicator with the ability to develop positive working relations across a multitude of business units
Exercises good judgment on complex decisions

HOURS OF WORK (SHIFTS): Monday - Thursday; 10 hour days
CAMP PROVIDED
FLIGHTS PROVIDED FROM EITHER EDMONTON OR CALGARY
CONTRACT LENGTH: Approx. 6 months with possibility of extension
