Turnaround Execution Coordinator - ID 258 - Sarnia, ON
Roles and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Post-Construction Support in conjunction with the Owner, architect-engineers, and construction contractors
Monitoring and controlling daily project performance to maintain cost, schedule, scope and quality.
Performs required regulatory compliance checks, job observations and actively participates in the 4 key safety priorities. Ensure that safe work habits are enforced and instruct safe methods of doing work.
Assist Project Engineers, as required, in coordinating daily execution activities including quality assurance and quality control activities.
Managing change requests through the Integrated Change Control procedure.
Ensure daily LEMS are accurate, signed, and submitted to project manager, as required.
Host daily line-out/coordination meetings for project contractors involved with execution.
Communicating execution progress weekly to the project manager.
Work with Project Engineering, providing administration of the construction contract.
Evaluate, recommend for approval, and process payment applications with Owner purchasing department.
Chair and minute weekly site progress meetings
Cause the Engineer and Contractor to action their punch listing of their work as it proceeds.
Assist in the Certificate of Occupancy and any other regulatory approvals from Authorities.
Settle any outstanding claims on the project, related to contracts.
Coordinate close out documentation for the project.
Debrief with Owner’s staff at completion to ensure all outstanding problems are solved and a smooth start up and relocation is achieved.
Oversee and manage all construction activities on a day to day basis.
Act on behalf of Owner, always.
Operating in a team-oriented environment, the contractor project coordinator is expected to participate in group activities, share thoughts and demonstrate active listening skills, while considering customer needs to provide the best service possible.
Effectively report progress of activities to the Project Manager, and highlight any areas requiring support with recommendations of an action plan to address such deficiencies/ improvements.
Keep peers informed on operations, particularly calling attention to changes, abnormalities and new problems as they arise. Establish and maintain effective two-way communication with employees.
Evaluate, establish, and implement safe work practices that minimize hazard exposure to employees.
Responsible for the development, implementation and follow-up on all aspects of the Owner Safety System as defined in Owner Safety System Audit Manual to ensure that established Department, Division and Corporate goals are met and/or surpassed.
Ensures that any rules or regulations contained in Owner Safety Manual, Policies and Procedures Manual, Mine Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations or any rules posted by the Corporation on bulletin boards or in the work area are complied with by all employees.
Must comply, administer and uphold all Company standards, policies and procedures pertaining to appropriate conduct for employees, including the Statement of Core Values and Code of Conduct; the Respect in the Workplace Policy; Safety, Health and Environment Policies; and any other applicable standards, policies and procedures as implemented and/or revised by the Company or by legislation.
Maintain adequate standards relating to health, safety and personnel relations. Impose good housekeeping habits in minds of employees and maintain good housekeeping throughout his/her area.
Utilize the human resources available in a fair and efficient manner. Encourage employee participation in problem solving.
Co-operates with interrelated departments in order to carry out a preventative maintenance program for efficient use of manpower, material and equipment such that production quotas are met.
Direct his/her area of responsibility to achieve the highest standards in all aspects, including safety, employee relations, production, cost, and effective utilization of the resources available. Direct, adjust and cease work activities to ensure employees are performing safe and productive work.
Journeyman Trade Red Seal
Heavy Trades background
Planning experience in SAP
Possible scheduling experience (not a must)
5+ years refinery Supervisory experience
Oil and gas experience preferred; especially turnaround execution and project planning.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Motivated, self-starter who can work well independently or within a team environment
An effective communicator with the ability to develop positive working relations across a multitude of business units
Exercises good judgment on complex decisions
