Our client is seeking for suitable candidates for an Underground Construction Coordinator. This individual will act as an Owner’s Representative with regards to projects in the Underground Department. The Underground Construction Coordinator will be responsible for daily co-ordination between: The Owner, Site Safety, Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Consultants, and other participants as required. The UG Construction Coordinator will report to the Chief Mine Maintenance Engineer or designate.

Roles and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Preparing, updating and managing all schedules, manpower, budgets, forecasts and project costs
Supervise personnel within their area of responsibility
Assigns/schedules work and performs regular follow-up on work activities
Responsible for planning organizational goals for project management
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, from project managers to subcontractors
Lead and drive the objectives and compliance of teams and subcontractors on-site
Execute project from start to finish, managing all aspects, working with clients, both internally & externally
Bringing projects in on time, to quality and under budget
Be a key component in managing trends whether cost, schedule or safety related
Report any anomalies for project safety, trends, issues or potential issues to the site manager as they occur
Identify and manage approved recovery plans
Be a visible leader in the field with regards to promoting safety and a healthy worksite

Strong written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer knowledge
Must be open and flexible to change, take initiative and be a team player
Ability to work across boundaries (interaction with, and understanding impacts to, both functional and business unit leaders at various levels of leadership
Ability to lead moderate to large cross-functional project teams to safely, reliably, cost effectively and efficiently execute project scope
Ability to lead various internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of highly complex projects
Ability to network, relationship build, and influence change

Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in a construction management, project management or project controls
Mechanical Engineer preferred or relevant technical diploma or university degree with 10+ years’ of increasing responsibility in various positions on large resource projects working for larger Organizations in Potash, Oil and Gas or construction.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/ Industrial Systems/Electrical, or Bachelor in Business or related function is an asset
5+ years experience in the potash environment
P.Eng considered an asset
Experience in multiple CMMS: SAP; P6; Oracle; MS Projects; etc.
Certified Project Management Professional; PMP preferred

Shift: 4/3 or similar rotation

LOA and Travel Allowance may be offered to candidates requiring travel.
